How to open a daith heart?
We get a lot of questions regarding this (mostly because their daith heart snapped while trying to open it) …so to avoid this from happening to you here’s a handy tip on opening your daith heart.
Naturally your first instinct is to pull the heart apart (sounds like someone I used to know) …but DO NOT DO THIS. Our daith hearts are made from titanium which is more “biologically compatible” but when pulled apart horizontally it becomes too much strain for the tip of the heart to take and it will just break in two.
Instead the most efficient way to open the daith heart is by twisting VERTICALLY as shown in the picture below, by doing this the daith heart will also retain its shape. If you pull the item apart (and it doesn’t manage to break) it may look bent or disfigured.
By twisting the daith heart vertically it is also easier to insert and remove the piercing.
